Oil painting gives you the liberty of so many things. That is why it is so popular. Michael Ryan is going to demonstrate and teach the basics in this class for beginners and for those that want to get more joy out of their painting. All you need is set of oil paints(water soluble is preferred), brushes, and a couple of canvases. Michael is known throughout the region for loose brush technique.
When you paint loose brush, you’re more concerned with the overall effect and the feeling of the painting than with exact accuracy. Claude Monet was know for this method of capturing light, movement, and emotion over blending every line into a photo-realistic finish. This 2-hour, 4-week class will give you the confidence to become the painter you want to be.
Classes are Mondays, June 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd.
